Solar technology has become a darling of renewable energy advocates and venture capitalists, but solar panels have always suffered from a bit of an image problem in some tree-lined communities. Curbside appeal has never been a selling point for solar manufacturers and plenty of homeowners and neighborhood governing groups still see the technology as a bit too new-age, sitting on a rooftop soaking up the sun’s heat.
